BAFTAs’ David Tennant Pokes Fun at Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner opted for a discreet entry into the 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards as Timothée Chalamet’s date — but host David Tennant wasn’t having any of it.

Jenner, 27, and Chalamet, 29, were seated together at the Sunday, February 16, event in London’s Royal Festival Hall, much to the delight of Tennant, 53, who pointed the pair out during the evening’s broadcast. (Jenner skipped the red carpet portion of the proceedings.)

In a clip of the moment that appeared via Tiktok on Sunday night, Tennant started by teasing that somebody in the crowd deserved “a very special mention.”

“We’re very privileged tonight to be joined by the runner-up in New York’s recent Timothée Chalamet look-alike competition,” Tennant said, before extending his arm out to introduce the amused A Complete Unknown actor.

The cheeky stunt drew applause from the crowd, and a wide grin from Chalamet himself, in referencing the October 2024’s look-alike contest that saw the actor visit New York’s Washington Square Park to take in his doppelgangers in person.

Tennant joked into the mic, “There’s a definite likeness, isn’t there?” before quizzing Chalamet on how long he was staying in town for and commending him for his “lovely attention to detail” — which led into remarks about Jenner.

“You’re with a Kylie Jenner look-alike, well done, well done, team,” Tennant said as the camera panned down to Jenner. Playing into the surprise attention, Jenner pointed at herself to suggest she was, of course, the real Kylie Jenner, before having a laugh at the funny exchange.

Chalamet had walked the red carpet solo on Sunday, opting for an all-black suit and a silver choker that shimmered with a bear pendant. He was up for the event’s Lead Actor award for his role as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknownfacing off against Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing), Ralph Fiennes (Conclave), Hugh Grant (Heretic) and Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice).

Jenner and Chalamet have been dating after the pair were spotted together in spring 2023. A source told Us Weekly at the time that their bond was growing stronger quickly. “Their chemistry is off the charts (and they try to) make as much time for each other (amid their) incredibly busy schedules,” the insider said.

Despite the pair keeping the relationship out of the public eye for the most part, Jenner has proven a pillar of support in recent times, joining her Oscar nominee boyfriend at the 2025 Golden Globes as well as at a recent episode of Saturday Night Live that Chalamet hosted.

“Timothée is very focused on his career and Kylie loves being on the sidelines cheering him on,” a second source told Us last month. “She loves that she’s in the spotlight more than her. It’s been a breath of fresh air.”
